I was also curious why the G6760 is 3350.00 I believe and the G3717 is 3295.00 . When you are essentially buying two machines with the 3717 and just a vertical mill with the 6760. I suspect there are issues with the 3717 that grizzly will possible say are corrected. I will be able to do gears and the like with the 6760 won't I?

It was manufactured in 1993. The DRO is actually American made in Chatsworth, California (I use to work in Chatsworth). I installed an American Rotary 3ph converter so it has the original 1.5hp 3ph motor with 10 speeds. It has lots of power. Two months ago I installed the column riser. I finally decided on the Grizzly G6760 vertical mill. It has many features that I liked such as radial spindle bearings, one shot lubrication, power feed and a spindle brake. It also weighs in at 1620 lbs. which is heavier than than most mills in this class.

I am having very good luck with my Grizzly G3616. It has had problems, but Grizzly has always responded within 48 hours. For example, the top speed is 2950 RPM, but the spindle would never turn a single revolution at that speed. Something in the main electronics box kept killing all power to the machine and restoring it after 15 seconds.
